Join DME + Seether Bookstore on Saturday at Revolve, a gallery and community space in Asheville, NC
Drum Machine Editions and Seether Bookstore at Revolve
We’re popping up again with our pals Seether Bookstore! Join us this Saturday, March 5, from 11AM-4PM at Revolve, a contemporary art and community gathering space here in Asheville, NC. You can browse the entire DME catalogue, plus a curated selection of used books from Seether. And beginning at 12, we’re offering a free zine-making workshop.
Free zine-making workshop
From 12PM-2PM, Erik (DME) and Lex (Seether) will be teaming up to teach a free zine-making workshop. We have over a decade of combined experience in bookmaking, so you’ll be in good hands! We’ll start with a brief introduction to the history of zine culture, then walk you through the classic single-sheet zine layout and structure. If you’re into ruining surprises, watch this video:
The world needs your perspective! Our aim here is to side-step the gatekeepers and demystify the world of self-publishing so you can get to work making zines and books on your own terms.
There will be enough materials to seat 20 people, so arrive early to claim a spot. You’ll leave with your own edition of 10 zines to share with your friends and neighbors.
Can’t make the workshop?
Thanks to the folks at Quarantine Public Library, you can print and assemble your own library of one-sheet artists’ books and zines for free at home. Or at your mom’s or at Staples or when your boss leaves for the day. Here are some of our favorites from the collection:
